What Is The Dues Rate To Join ABI?

Membership in the American Bankruptcy Institute is for insolvency professionals all over the world. Our members consist of attorneys, accountants, auctioneers, turnaround professionals, professors, and anyone who is interested in learning the latest information on insolvency. ABI has thousands of members from more than 40 countries.

We have several levels of membership available. You will note that we offer different dues rates to accommodate professionals from all areas. They are:

Regular membership: This is for non-government/academic/non-profit professionals in the insolvency field within North America. Dues are currently $425 annually and run 1 year from the month you join. Your membership dues include a subscription to the ABI Journal -a members only benefit.

Government/Non Profit/Academic membership: This classification is for full-time government employees, full-time professors not actively practicing, auctioneers, credit counselors and those who work full-time for not-for-profit entities. To maintain this classification of membership, with the reduced dues amount, your address and E-Mail must remain your work (government/academic, etc.) address for the duration of your classification as a government member. Dues are currently $125 annually. Your membership dues include a subscription to the ABI Journal — a members-only benefit.

Student Membership: This classification is for full-time students (12 credits per semester) for a maximum of three (3) years. Student members are required to provide either an expected graduation date or proof of full-time student status when they join. Students who do not provide an expected graduation date should remit ongoing proof of student status each year when they renew. This can be a course schedule or any documentation that provides the students name and the number of credits attempted for that semester. Questions regarding student membership should be directed to membership@abiworld.org Student membership is FREE. Contact ABI for details on how to enroll as a student member.

Emeritus membership: Starting in 2003, ABI instituted an Emeritus membership classification as a means to keep our members active after retirement when they have stopped practicing insolvency. Emeritus membership is available to members who have been active for 15 or more years, who have a) reached 65 years of age and fully retired or b) 70 years of age and still employed. To find out more about Emeritus status please contact us at membership@abiworld.org or (703) 739-0800. Dues for Emeritus members are $125 annually and have all of the same benefits of regular membership.

This category of membership does NOT include mailed materials — but all membership materials are available via our website, including the ABI Journal. http://www.abi.org/membership. International membership is $250 annually.

Young and New Member Professional:  This category of membership is dedicated to professionals 30 years of age and younger and based in the United States and Canada only.
